Kids with mental handicaps, physical handicaps and/or behavioral problems can still enjoy soccer with the help of our Special Children's Soccer Program.

This program was created for children between the ages 5 and 18 who aren't able to participate in a regular soccer activity. It provides an opportunity for children who require modified educational practices and spchld.jpg (8765 bytes)services to develop their maximum capacity.

Any child with a severe auditory or visual impairment, orthopedic handicap, behavior deviations or mental retardation would benefit from a special sports program because he or she requires a special learning environment that is directed toward identifying and remediating their physical as well as cognitive deficits. This could include cerebral dysfunctions, impulse disorders, mental retardation, Down's Syndrome, physical handicaps, learning disabilities, Epilepsy, etc.

We have Spring and Fall schedules similar to the regular soccer programs. Each schedule is made up primarily of skills sessions and scrimmages. Skill sessions teach the children soccer in an environment that is fun and pressure free. The scrimmages allow the children to use their soccer skills in a game scenario. Most, if not all, of the children enjoy the scrimmages best of all. Tournaments are hosted by a few of the individual clubs during each season as well.

The Spring season usually ends with a barbecue in June while the Fall season concludes with an awards dinner in late November or early December. Since the word "loser" is not a part of our vocabulary, every player receives an award at the tournaments and the season-ending events.

If you and your child are looking for a program that is fun, pressure free and provides a good amount of physical activity for the players, please print out the attached combination registration/medical form, fill it in, have your doctor sign it and return to:
