Garden City Eighth Grade Division Champions
Garden City won a tremendously well played game at Seaman Neck Park defeating an outstanding Wantagh team that entered the game undefeated in two years of LISGYLL play including last years seventh grade championship.  Garden City had gone 6-2 in the regular season to finish in second place and came in and played their best game of the season.  Down  by two goals late in the second half, Garden City scored three unanswered goals to win 10-9 in one of the most well played and exciting championship games in the twenty year history of LISGYLL.. Congratulations to Garden City on its outstanding and well deserved Championship.  Good luck to the players of both these fabulous teams as they move into high school.

Garden City 2019 LISYGLL Seventh Grade Champions

Garden City defeated a very good Bayville team to win the 2019 LISGYLL Seventh Grade Championship by the score of 9-8.  Garden City ended the regular season with a 6-0-1 record to finish in first place while Bayville finished 5-1-1.  The game was close throughout as expected with Garden City pulling out the win at the end. Both teams had a great season and both played hard and well in this close championship game.  Congratulations to Garden City on an outstanding victory.

2018 Seventh Grade Champions
Wantagh completed its undefeated season with a victory over an outstanding Manhasset team 12-6 in the Divisions Championship game to finish their season at a perfect 9-0.  The team is a very talented  group of players who play tremendous lacrosse on both sides of the field.  As it is with Manhasset, the future of Wantagh Lacrosse is very bright indeed.  Congratulations to the Wantagh players and coaches, led by Head Coach Jimmy Nicholson. The League looks forward to seeing both Manhasset and the outstanding Wantagh teams back in the League next year.

The Huntington Eighth Grade team claimed the Divisions Championship on their
home field of Breezy Park with an 8-4 victory on a chilly May Friday night
over a very good Manhasset team. Huntington had got to the Championship
game with a dramatic 10-9 overtime victory against second seeded Garden City
in the semis while Manhasset had up ended top seed Cold Spring Harbor 14-9
to advance. The division was extremely balanced and competitive in 2018.
Huntington finished the season without a lose in the highly competitive
division and a record of 4-0-3. They had tied Manhasset previously along
with Garden City and Bayport Blue Point. What a great season and
outstanding Championship. Congratulations to the Huntington players and
coaches, led by head coach, Geoff Cassell, who claimed his second LISGYLL
championship.

2017 Eighth Grade Division Champions Garden City

The Garden City 8th Grade LISGYLL team defended their 2016 7th Grade Division  Championship with a convincing victory over Manhasset to win the 2017 LISGYLL Eighth Grade Division Championship.  Garden City ended their two year run in LISGYLL with two Championships and a final record of 17-1.  Very impressive indeed. Congratulations to the players and coaches.

2016 Seventh/Eighth Grade Division Champions

The Smithtown East Seventh/Eigjhth grade girls lacrosse team finished an undefeated LISGYLL season with a convincing win over Locust Valley in the LISGYLL Seventh/Eighth Grade Division Championship game held at Allen Park in Farmingdale.

2016  Eighth Grade Division Champions

The Manhasset 8th grade team concluded a great season by winning the LISGYLL 8th grade division championship with a win against the West Islip team 12-5.  Manhasset had advanced by defeating Huntington  and West Islip by defeating Cold Spring Harbor.  Congratulations to Manhasset and Coach Jim Kenny, who after years of coaching a variety of Manhasset teams over the years coached his last LISGYLL game.  A nice way to go out.

2016 Seventh Grade Division Champion

The Garden City 7th grade team concluded an undefeated season, 9-0, with a well played 10-8 win over Manhasset in the divisions championship game played at Allen Park in Farmingdale.

Garden City - 2015 Eighth Grade Cherokee Conference Champions

The Garden City 8th Grade team defended their 2014 Seventh Grade Division Championship by defeating an outstanding Smithtown team, 10-8, in the 2015 Championship game of the Eighth Grade Cherokee Conference, LISGYLL's premier conference. In 2014, the team went undefeated and this year they did it again, finishing 8-0, to go 17-0 over two years. In 2014 the team went 8-0 to win the Seventh Grade West Conference and then defeated the East Conference Champion, Connetquot, in the Division Championship game.  An impressive team and accomplishment to say the least over their two year run in LISGYLL. Congratulations to the teams players and coaches.
The Mohawk Eighth Grade Conference Championship saw Rockville Centre (4-2-1) playing Farmingdale (2-4-1) for the third time this season.  Farmingdale earned their way into the championship game with a tremendous upset win in the semis over the top seeded Huntington team who had been 5-1 at the time. RVC had beaten Oyster Bay in the semis. In the two previous games played between Farmingdale and RVC they had tied in their first meeting and then in the second meeting Farmingdale won by a single end of the game goal. It was no different in the championship game.  The two teams were tied at halftime 3-3 and then at the end of the second half they were still tied 6-6 for over time. Neither team scored in the first 6 minute over time period so they went into sudden victory.  With a minute and a half left in the first sudden victory period and Farmingdale down a player, due to a yellow card, the Dalers scored to win the Championship.  It just does not get much better than that. A great game between two very good and competitively balanced teams.  Congratulations to Farmingdale.
2015 SEVENTH GRADE DIVISION CHAMPSIONS - COLD SPRING HARBOR

The Cold Spring Harbor seventh grade team, who were the East Conference Champs, won the 2015 Long Island Senior Girls Youth Lacrosse Seventh Grade Division Championship in an exciting well played win over the West Conference Champions, Garden City.  CSH had defeated West Islip and Garden City had beaten Manhasset Orange in the semis in order to get to this final game.  Cold Spring Harbor got off to an early lead and led at half time 6-1.  However Garden City came back strong in the second half outscoring CSH 3-1 but ultimately fell short loosing to the excellent CSH team 7-4. Congratulations to Cold Spring Harbor, as well as Garden City, and the League looks forward to both teams coming back in 2016 to compete for the 8th grade Championship.

2015 SEVENTH GRADE DIVISION RUNNER UP - GARDEN CITY
The Garden City seventh grade team were the 2015 LISGYLL West Conference Champs, having beaten Manhasset Orange in that conferences championship, but lost an exciting well played game against the East Conference Champions, Cold Spring Harbor, in the Division Championship. Garden City got off to a slow start and were behind at half time 6-1. They then played a very strong second half outscoring CSH 3-1, but fell short loosing 7-4. Congratulations to Garden City for their east conference championship and being the division runner up in their outstanding 2015 season. The League looks forward to them playing in 2016 as eighth graders

CHAMPS!
Oyster Bay won the 2013 7th/8th Grade Division Championship

Oyster Bay (5-3 overall) won the 2013 7th/8th Grade Division Championship defeating an excellent Hicksville team (5-3) in an extremely well played and close game. Oyster Bay had beaten the previously undefeated Seaford team (7-1) in the semi-finals.

Seventh Grade Division Champion

The 2014 Seventh Grade Division Championship game saw Garden City playing Connetquot on the Burns Park stadium field on the night of May 20th courtesy of the Massapequa Lacrosse Club.  Garden City was the 7th grade west conference champion after defeating Manhasset 11-8 while Connetquot won the east conference championship with a 8-6 victory over Cold Spring Harbor. The Divisional Championship game was as great a game as the conference championships.  In this closely and exceptionally played game by both teams Garden City won 8-7 to claim the Division Championship.  Better middle school age lacrosse play cannot be found anywhere else in the United States

The Wantagh 8th grade LISGYLL team won a dramatic and exciting 2013 Eighth Grade Conference A Championship against an extremely excellent Cold Spring Harbor team in the final game of the season.  Cold Spring entered the game undefeated having won their semi final game against a good Port Washington 8th grade team.  Wantagh entered the Championship game with a 6-2 record and having won their semi final game against the always tough and competitive Harborfields team.  In the second week of the season Cold Spring Harbor had pulled out a regular season victory over Wantagh by the score of 7-5.  In the outstanding championship game the two teams went to overtime and Wantagh came out on the plus side this time out.  Both teams are marvelously coached and play the game as well as anyone around.  Congratulations to both teams for two outstanding seasons and years in LISGYLL.  The League wishes both teams the best of luck as they move onto High School.
