General Announcement
|
The Garden City Basketball program has enjoyed tremendous support and has provided instruction to 400-600 children each season. Garden City Basketball is a proud member of the JrNBA/JrWNBA, iHoops, and the AAU, respected national youth sports organizations, and our program follows their rules, policies, and procedures. Our program uses the same reversible dazzle cloth jersey for all teams so that we may move players even during a game to ensure everyone has a fun time. Our goal is simply to have a great program that is our version of fun for children. Our participants are provided equal playing time with no tension and no pressure. We are already looking forward to the 2010-2011 season!

NBA FIT

Congratulations to Brandon Pizzingrillo for his 2nd place finish (boys 8 and under) in the NYC Regional NBA FIT competition. Kyle Skramko won the NYC Regional (boys 13-14) and we are proud to say is one of two boys that qualified for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP held in Dallas February 12th-15th during the NBA ALL STAR Weekend! NBA Fit is sponsored by SINGULAIR. The NBA FIT/ WNBA FIT Challenge is free for boys and girls ages 14 and under, and encourages participants to maintain healthy, active lifestyles. The competition offers more than 100,000 youngsters the chance to demonstrate their physical fitness through a time-based fitness course that includes line sprints, jump rope, speed revolutions, wall passes, and defensive shuffles. The challenge tests participants’ speed, strength, agility, and overall physical fitness. Local competitions took place nationwide from September through November and regional competitions ran through January 2010 in all NBA Markets and (5) D-League markets.
