"Rachel's
is the place!"
There
are so many restaurants on the Nautical
Mile...choosing where to dine requires some real
decision making. If you desire a menu that offers a
variety of choices, Rachel's is the place! The menu
selections include an abundance of seafood
specialties...from tasty appetizers to delicious
entrees. You can choose to have your seafood dish
prepared four different ways...all of which are very
good. The pasta dishes are huge (I recommend the
Shrimp and Bowtie Ala Vodka) and scrumptious. From
lobster to mussels to fish, chicken and steak...they
can accommodate most palates. There is a nice view
through the gigantic windows and although the
seating is a bit tight (they made use of every inch
of the place), it's not cramped. I recommend
Rachel's. It is a really good restaurant. My
favorite on the Nautical Mile. Reviewed 4/25/2016

"Unbelievable!"

Been
here a couple of times originally for brunch and it
is wonderful. Seafood chowder soup and gumbo soup
unbelievable...my bf had the twin lobster tails
stuffed and he said it was unbelievable. I had the
seafood risotto and I loved it...can't wait to go
back for the mardi gras menu...what a great place!

You

just to have a good time with a date, mate, or group
and you will have come to the right place. Well
prepared seafood dishes and great cocktails.

“Great
food, great view!”
In my
opinion, Rachel's is one of the best restaurants on
the Freeport Nautical Mile. We've eaten there many
times and today we were there for lunch. Great
children's menu for our 10 year old. We chose to sit
inside, but outside seating is also available. My
husband loved the seafood chowder, and he is usually
so picky about that. The grilled chicken sandwich
with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella cheese
was delicious. See attached picture. I opted for the
salad instead of french fries and the salad was
delicious with fresh strawberries. I stole some of
my daughter's fries and they were so good...crispy
and seasoned on the outside and creamy on the
inside. Really nice size portions. The views from
the restaurant are great.
"Great
food, huge portions"
Four
of us went to Rachel's for dinner tonight . The men
ordered the seafood with pasta (one with red sauce,
one with white). They were excellent and tremendous!
I had the chili tuna - very good. My friend ordered
the broiled seafood platter, and she enjoyed it.
Rachel's chowder and the lobster bisque were
excellent too.
"Beautiful
location"
Great
location and delicious food. Located right on the
"Nautical Mile." We went for Sunday brunch
and were not disappointed. They don't have a
separate menu, but rather the normal menu with a few
modifications to turn it into brunch. I had the
shrimp and spinach omelet which came out piping hot
and perfectly cooked. The mimosa was well made as
were the treats in the small basket of baked goods.
Service was friendly and prices as expected. We
arrived around noon and by the time we left, there
was quite a crowd waiting to get in.
“Pleasant
al fresco lunch”
This
restaurant is one of the many on the stretch of
Woodcleft Avenue by the local canals known as the
Nautical Mile. We chose it for lunch based on it's
interesting website. We secured an outdoor table
with a view of the canal. My wife had a spinach
salad. I had their grilled Southwestern Caesar Salad
with a shrimp add-on. No complaints with either
order. My Caesar feature grilled romaine and a spicy
riff on Caesar dressing. The drinks were pleasant
and service was prompt and friendly. Just a nice
afternoon. I suspect that on weekends the crowding
is much heavier and parking more difficult, but for
our late mid week lunch, it was just fine.
