Middle Country Children's Soccer offers several programs for children of various ages and skill levels. The programs are as follows:

Intramural Program

The Intramural program is the largest program at MCCS. The basic philosophy is to ensure that our players develop sportsmanship, and enjoy the game of soccer. All Intramural games are played at Eugene Auer Elementary School. There are five intramural divisions as follows:

  • Little Kickers: ages 3 ½ to 4

Children 3½ to 4 years old start in our coed Little Kickers division. The emphasis is to teach the children the fundamentals of soccer and have a lot of fun. Each one-hour session per week is divided into a practice segment and a game segment. The game is 3 v 3 with no goalies to maximize each child's time kicking the ball. This is all in preparation for the children to move to the next level.

  • Freshman: ages 5 & 6

As the children advance from the Little Kicker program, the children are separated into the Freshman Boys and Freshman Girls Divisions. The emphasis is on teaching the basic skills, positions and team work. All games are played for fun and no scores or standings are kept.

  • Sophomore: ages 7 & 8
  • Juniors: ages 9 & 10
  • Seniors: ages 11 & older

As the children advance to the next levels, they will be introduced to a more competitive setting. The emphasis is to continue teaching skills, positions and team work while providing soccer players with an environment that allows them to play and enjoy youth soccer. Standings and scores will be kept.

Developmental / Tournament Team Program:

Tournament teams are for the U-6 through U-9 age boys and girls that desire to play soccer in a more competitive setting. Many neighboring clubs hold competitive intramural tournaments for teams to have the opportunity to represent their clubs. The tournament teams are formed in addition to the regular intramural teams. Players will participate in additional practices and enter tournaments, in preparation for playing soccer at the travel level.

Interleague Program:

Is the largest Intramural Interleague soccer program on Long Island, with 47 clubs and over 350 teams playing. The program is run through Suffolk Soccer Interleague, Inc. (SSI) and offers our children competitive soccer as players move up from the intramural program. SSI allows us to play against other Interleague teams that are the same age for fun and development. SSI offers two programs as follows:

  • Intramural / Interleague Program

In the event, a club cannot provide enough teams to form a division for the intramural program, SSI offers clubs the opportunity to form a recreational division of boys and girls from neighboring clubs. Although our Interleague teams play teams from other local soccer clubs, the operation of the Interleague is much more like an intramural program than a travel program.

  • Development / Tournament Program

A new program formed to help develop boys and girls for the more committed and serious player. These are developmental / tournament teams interested in the next level of play (Travel). Playing for the development / tournament program requires commitment and responsibility from the players as well as the parents. The program is for U-8 and U-9 age boys and girls that desire to play soccer in a more competitive setting. For more information contact the Interleague Coordinator, Bob Cruz at (631) 737-7273.

Travel Program:

Is the highest and most competitive level of soccer for the more advance player. Travel teams are for boys and girls ranging from under-10 years of age (U10) through under-19 years of age (U19). Travel teams are registered within the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) and play against other travel teams throughout Long Island. Playing on the travel team requires a greater level of commitment from the players and parents. For more information contact the Travel Registrar, Bob Cruz.
