Estates Nominating Committee Seeks School Board Trustee Candidates

The Nominating Committee (the “Nominating Committee”) of the Property Owners' Association of Garden City Estates, Inc. (the “Estates POA”) is seeking Estates residents who are interested in being interviewed for a Garden City School Board Trustee position (“School Board Trustee”). Under the Community Agreement and the By-Laws of the Estates POA, the Nominating Committee is asked to interview Estates residents who are interested in serving as School Board Trustee, a position that has a three-year term commencing in July 2016.

 

The Nominating Committee consists of 15 residents of the Estates section, serving three-year terms. The Nominating Committee's selection for the School Board Trustee candidate will be placed into nomination at the Estates POA Electors' Meeting that will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. All Estates residents are encouraged to attend in order to vote at that Electors' Meeting. Estates residents who are interested in being considered a prospective candidate must submit the following to the Nominating Committee: name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, a brief summary of their personal and professional background, a statement as to their qualifications, and reason(s) why they would like to be considered for candidacy for the School Board Trustee position. The Nominating Committee will contact the candidates to establish dates for interviews.

 

The Nominating Committee welcomes and encourages all Estates residents to get more involved and volunteer their time. All candidates must submit their material in writing to the Secretary of the Estates POA by e-mailing the material to: Colby Allsbrook at callsbrook@optonline.net or by mail (and must be “received” by the due date) at P.O. Box 282, Garden City, NY 11530 no later than December 13, 2015.  The following residents are current members of the Nominating Committee:

Village Emergency Contact Information:  The Estates POA Board urges all residents to update their emergency contact information with the Village.  You can do this simply by logging onto the Village of Garden City website, www.gardencityny.net, drop down to the SWIFT 911 Notification on the bottom of the right side, and enter the information electronically.  This will enable the Village to reach you in the event of an emergency.
