Station Maintenance-The Nelson Report noted an inherent problem with the LIRR systems maintenance of their stations - including platform repairs and electrical upgrades. Employees appear to respond to problems only on an “as-needed” basis. Citizens are concerned that it seems that the LIRR lacks a forward looking maintenance plan that will provide for the upkeep and preservation of stations rather than spend so much wasteful and costly time operating in a crisis mode.
