Bridge Maintenance- The report referred to 182 LIRR bridges that are “not in a state of good repair though still functional and safe.” It called for the hiring of 30 additional workers to upgrade and maintain the bridges.  Any changes to LIRR bridges in Garden City will result in enormous traffic effects both on Nassau Blvd as well as any streets throughout the village that tie into Nassau Blvd.  The historic roadway “cut-through” at Tanner’s Pond Road and Main Ave will also be affected by the addition of the Third Track.
