Bagels taste better if they get a
little TLC. Here are ways to keep bagels fat and
healthy:
-To keep overnight, leave bagels in a plastic bag at
room temperature.
-To keep two or three days, refrigerate in a plastic
bag or sealed container.
-To keep longer than three days, freeze.
-To warm bagels or freshen stale ones, use one of
three ways:
1. Sprinkle bagels with water and wrap in foil or
put in a dampened paper bag, then place in a 350
degree oven for 10 to 15 min.
2. Dip bagels in water, shake it off, then heat,
uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 10 to 15
minutes.
3. Heat bagels straight from the refrigerator or
freezer in their plastic bag in the microwave oven.
Set the oven on medium and warm 30 seconds for refrigerated
bagels, longer for frozen.
-Never put hot or warm bagels back into plastic
bags: they will get soggy. Allow to cool, then wrap
in foil.
-Never crowd warm bagels, or they will be crushed.
