Nominating Committee of Garden City
Estates Nominates Directors
to the Property Owners’ Association of Garden City Estates
The Nominating
Committee of Garden City Estates met on March 20, 2013 to select for
nomination 5 directors to serve on the Board of Directors of the Property
Owners’ Association of Garden City Estates for a 3-year term ending
2016. The members of the Nominating Committee are residents of the Estates
section of Garden City.

Requests received by
the due date in response to the announcement placed in February 2013 were
considered by the committee. Existing Directors requesting renewal
consideration were presented as well.
The Nominating Committee met to discuss and vote on nominations.
The following dues paid members of the Estates POA are unanimously
nominated to serve a 3-yr term expiring 2016 as Estates POA Directors:

Robert Bommarito 122 Kensington Rd; and Tina DiMino 148 Brompton Rd.
Three of the nominated
directors (Abrusci, Slattery and Wood) currently serve on the Board of
Directors, and have been re-nominated; the fourth and fifth nominated
directors (Bommarito and DiMino) are currently serving on the Nominating
Committee and have served and participated in many other POA roles as
members.
Tina DiMino has been a
resident in the Estates since 1991. She
and her husband, Bob have three children (John, Dessie and Gloria).
Tina has been an active member of the Estates POA and has served on
the Estates Nominating Committee for six years.
Tina is also a member of the PTA since 1996. She
participated in various committees and was very active.
Tina is a lawyer and has been a member of the NY State Bar since
1984. Tina has practiced law
as a sole practitioner since 1991. Before
that, she worked at Whitman & Ransom in the Real Estate department and
at Ernst & Whinney in the Tax department.
Robert Bommarito has
been a resident in the Estates since 2001.
He and his wife, Annmarie, have three children (Marissa, Gianna,
and Ava). Robert has been an
active member of the Estates POA and currently serves on the Nominating
Committee. Robert was heavily involved in assisting the President of the
Estates POA with the POA runoff election; he was appointed to serve as the
Election Commissioner. Robert
was also Assistant Chair of the Nominating Committee.
He and his family are very active in Garden City activities and
sports. He has coached
Centennial soccer teams and will soon receive his “C” License in order
to be eligible to coach a travel team.
Robert has been an attorney since 1991, and has run his own
practice since 1996.
All five nominees were
unanimously nominated by the Estates Nominating Committee. The Nominating
Committee will present the five nominees for vote by members of the
Property Owners’ Association of Garden City Estates at the Annual
Meeting on Wednesday May 8, 2013 which will be held at 8:00PM in
Stratford School. All
residents and members are encouraged to attend. Voting Members must be dues
paid members of the Property Owners’ Association of Garden City
Estates. Please be sure that if you have not already paid your dues
($20.00) for the 2012/2013 year, you do so before the annual meeting.
Any Voting Member of
the Property Owners’ Association of Garden City Estates may present
alternate candidates (dues paid members) for Director by submitting a
written petition, signed by at least 15 Voting Members. The petition must
include name, address, and signature of the candidate(s) and the 15
petitioners. It must be presented to the Secretary of the Property
Owners’ Association of Garden City Estates (mholland@condonlaw.com) and
must be received at least 20 days prior to the Annual Meeting. The
petition must also include the signed written consent of the candidate
being submitted for nomination. If alternates are presented, the election
shall take place at the Annual Meeting.
The Estates Nominating
Committee and the Board of Directors of the Estates POA encourage all
residents to become Estates POA members and further encourage Estates POA
Members to attend monthly POA meetings and get involved in the Estates POA.
There are various committees which require volunteer help from anyone
who has the time to contribute in whatever way possible.
Please attend the Annual Meeting on
May 8, 2013, held at 8PM at Stratford School.

in serving on the Estates POA Board as Directors.
The Board consists of 15 persons serving in three classes of five
directors, each class serving for three years.
This year a class of directors is scheduled for nomination and
election. If you are
interested please submit your request to Manuel Velez (Chairperson of the
Estates Nominating Committee). Your

Post Office Box at PO Box 282 Garden City (Attention: Nominating
Committee). The submission
should include the applicant’s name, address, telephone number, and
email address. You must be a
current “dues paid” member, and shall include a short summary resume
or similar biography which states your interest and any information that
you think may be relevant, such as involvement with the Garden City
Community at large. It is also important that a professional resume be
included or letter of personal achievements that you would like the
Nominating Committee to consider.
