HISTORY

Edward D. Jamie, Jr, licensed funeral director, is the second generation funeral director in his family. His father, Edward D. Jamie was licensed at the age of 21 and practiced for 46 years before passing away at the age of 67 in 1979. Edward D. Jamie, Jr. was the founder of the Edward D. Jamie Funeral Chapel in 1969 and currently his daughter, Marissa Jamie, is studying for her funeral directors license and wants to continue the business in her father's footsteps. Pictured above is Carter E. Jamie, grandson of Edward . Carter's  father, Christopher,  was going to funeral directing school in 2001 when he tragically passed away.

Lynn Jamie, is  the wife of Edward and is very active in the business. A family business that knows the feeling of loosing someone you love. The entire family has been very active in their Church and Lynn currently runs a bereavement group since the loss of her son Christopher. Marissa is a graduate of Adelphi and received her masters degree in Social work currently running a group home for disabled seniors in Smithtown, while studying for her funeral directors license. Edward D. Jamie, Jr. is the manager and licensed funeral director of the Edward D. Jamie, Jr. funeral chapel. He has been licensed since 1969 and recently passed the New Jersey Funeral Practitioners exam and is also a licensed funeral practitioner in New Jersey.

The current office location is one block east of the Clearview Expressway on Northern Blvd. Mr. Jamie, Jr. is very familiar with all religious customs and has served the community for over 37 years. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, a graduate of Queens College and a  member of the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Bayside. His services are unique: 

1)      Arrangements can be made in the funeral home or at the residence. Mr. Jamie, Jr. will come to your home to make all arrangements and ease the emotional burden of making final arrangements for a loved one.

2)      Pre-Arrangement counseling is also available on-line or in person. You can visit our website, select a casket, fill in all particulars for vital statistics and even order flowers , a monument, urn for cremation, limousine, prayer cards, acknowledgement cards or prepare a death notice for a local or national paper.

3)      Location and convenience are important. We can also accommodate your needs to be close to your home or even have the services held in your Church or Temple.
